Penelle Magazine was founded by Kameron Ray Morton in 2025, simply because they love lit mags. The title comes from the format of the magazine. Each issue features 5(ish) poems, 4 fiction, 3 nonfiction, 2 reviews, and 1 image. When added together, there are 15 things in each issue. When you add the letters in Penelle Magazine, you get 15.
Why Penelle? This was the name of the founding editor’s first dog. They came up with the name when they were six, and it was supposed to be short for Penelope.
The magazine will be published twice a year, with the first issue releasing some time this fall.
